30 Subscribers Milestone!

You wont hear any celebration about this feat anywhere else that's under my control. I like to not advertise myself too much, because I dislike people doing it in other videos, so why should I put you through the same misery? You're smart people, you don't need me to tell you to subscribe if you like the content.

But anyhoo, a milestone nonetheless, and there was a smile or two on my face when I found out, but other than that nothing interesting has happened.

I may make a more direct statement once the number of people who have subscribed is, say, 100, 500, 1000 or something. I don't intend to do it too often.

I'm on my way, and your here to see it!

BuildCraft and More! - Ep. 20

The alarm idea sounded cool in my head, ok? :P

Yes, I decided to switch this collector system over to one that can now automatically deal with the excess glowstone itself, by dumping it into a pathway that turns it back into Mobius Fuel. Why? Because it stops me having to answer an alarm. All I have to do is visit the machine whenever I need Mobius Fuel. It seems to be able to make it faster than I need it, so pretty soon I can probably start making some useful items with it (a destruction catalyst comes to mind :D).

Ad revenue?

I'm probably not allowed to quote directly, but I was surprised to see an email from YouTube in my inbox saying that I could make money from ad revenue.

At this point I've fired off an email to Notch (the creator of Minecraft) to get written permission to make money from the videos, and gone ahead and created the AdSense account. I should get an email from them in the next day or two stating that the ad stuff is ready to go, and hopefully also by then Notch will have replied as well.

Whether or not he agrees is up to him, I suppose.

Escape the Cage Ep. 3 Misfire

This would have to be (I feel) one my better episodes. I was jumpy, energetic, itching to do it, that kind of thing. Then in post while I'm editing I'm horrified to discover that I sound like I'm recording from the bottom of a well. This is the sort of thing that shouldn't have happened. And in truth I did a sound test, which went fine, but alas the real thing wasn't to be.

I usually do 2 tests, one with Camtasia and the other is Procaster. I skipped the Procaster test, believing everything would be rosy and fine, having sucess with Camtasia. I remember even saying to myself: "I wont need to test, it's all working fine." Some assumption that was.

Anyway, hopefully you can look past the technical fail and enjoy what is actually, as I said, quite a good episode.

And as a reward for your diligent link finding skills...

... you get to know a little of the behind the scenes that's going on!

Me and a friend have begun planning a new parody cartoon series, the first episode of which will hopefully be uploaded on my YouTube channel within a week (don't expect precise dates for this project!). I don't really want to go into details, as to not spoil the surprise, but I will say that we've completed a script for episode one, we just need to make the cartoons, animate them, and record our voices for the various characters.

We think it's funny, so hopefully you do too!

Woah, dude!

Well, here we are. The first post in a new medium for me: Blogging. If you've managed to find your way to this page with no idea who I am, let me fill you in a bit.

Hi! My name is Birdtross. I've recently started making YouTube videos centered around gaming. Specifically, Mojang's popular hit Minecraft. I started a series with some mods for the game, and since then over 20 people have subscribed to my channel. This number is incomparable when it comes to other notable Minecraft video makers (The Yogscast, Hat Films, etc.), but it's a start.

And for those of you who already knew that and found your way here through some obscure link somewhere, hi!

So basically this blog business will hopefully provide a bit more freedom when it comes to adding insight to videos and whatnot.
